PROPERTY DETAILS

“Olindapoint” is a two acre property in Olinda on Maui. This piece of property is blessed with, arguably, the finest, most comprehensive view of any buildable housesite on the island of Maui. It is unique on the island. Because of it's natural position on the promontory of Olinda's "Rainbow Ridge" the view is almost 360° and includes not only the North and South Shores and the West Maui Mountains but also parts of Kahoolawe, Lanai, and Molokai. It also encompasses, almost uniquely from a piece of property that includes the above vistas, a sweeping panoramic view of the entire Haleakala Crater. I do not believe that there is another buildable housesite that encompasses more square miles under observation than this one. There is no other spot on the island, in the islands, in the state, like this. It is unique and unparalleled.

Advertising for other parcels boast “bi-coastal views”. There are 5 distinct coasts that are visible from Olindapoint. But it is not just the view that makes this property outstanding. These two acres are located at the 3000’ level on Olinda Road, which many people agree is the nicest place to live on the island, at just the right elevation. Let me explain:

As the leading real estate agents on the island have said: ”First time buyers buy on the coast, second time buyers buy upcountry”. Why? The coasts and beaches are wonderful, and are absolutely necessary for those who cannot live elsewhere. They are also hot and increasingly crowded. It is on the coasts that the coming building and population boom will be most felt. Unless you absolutely need to live there, the coasts are places to visit and enjoy, and then retreat from to your upcountry sanctuary. The nearest beach, Baldwin Beach in Paia, is about 15 minutes drive from this property. You don’t have to live on the coast, with it’s exposure to hurricanes and tsunamis (two last year) to enjoy the beaches.

There is now traffic backed up everywhere upcountry, in Paia, Makawao, everywhere, and don’t even mention Kehei or Lahaina. Traffic can back up for hours around the Pali. I do not have to elaborate for one to understand the implications this has for future quality of life issues on the island.

“The Sweet Spot”

If you are sensitive to the quality of life on Maui there is no better choice than buying a lot up off the coastal plain, out of the traffic and congestion, out of the oppressive summer heat and up into the cool and seclusion of the lower flanks of Haleakala.

“Olinda Point” is located at the perfect elevation in Olinda, plenty hot in the summer but cool enough to sleep comfortably at night. Those in the know (including locals and real estate agents) understand that Olinda is the place to live on the island.
